What we collect

SimpleSmartRadio is a directory of public internet radio streams. We do not require an account and we do not track you across sites. The only information that ever leaves your browser is what you type into the search field — that request goes to our API (api.simplesmartradio.com) so we can return matching stations.

Cookies & local storage

Essential: simplesmartradio-favourites (localStorage, no tracking — stores which stations you have favourited).

No advertising cookies are currently set. The site does not serve ads or third-party trackers today. If we add advertising in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent via a banner before any tracking cookies are placed.

Server-side request log

For debugging and abuse-detection, our API (api.simplesmartradio.com) records each request: timestamp, method, path, query string (e.g. what you typed in search), response status and duration, country, browser user-agent, the page that linked you here (HTTP referer, if any), and a daily-rotated SHA-256 hash of your IP address (the raw IP is never stored, and the hash changes every day so it cannot be used to follow you over time). Records are retained for 30 days, then deleted automatically. Legal basis: legitimate interest under GDPR Art 6(1)(f) — keeping the service operational and free from abuse.

Takedown form submissions

If you submit our takedown form (e.g. as a rights holder or to report a broken/inappropriate stream), we store what you provide — your name, email address, the station identifier, the selected reason, and your message — together with the daily-rotated IP-hash and a submission timestamp. We use this to review and act on your report, and to contact you back if needed. Stored in our review queue (Cloudflare R2). Removed when the case is closed or after 12 months, whichever is first. Legal basis: legitimate interest in handling rights/abuse claims (GDPR Art 6(1)(f)); for rights-holder claims also legal obligation under DSA / DMCA. Data we share

We do not send telemetry to third parties. Which stations you favourite, which stations you play, and how you navigate inside the site stay on your device. Favourites are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.

Audio streams

When you hit play, your browser connects directly to the station operator's stream server. We do not proxy, re-encode, or log the connection.

Your rights

If you are an EEA/UK visitor you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Since we do not run accounts and do not track you, in practice there is no personal data to access or delete. Contact privacy@simplesmartcompany.com with any request.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the homepage for at least 14 days.
